Travel Bursaries

The application window for the 2024-25 bursaries is now OPEN.

Travel bursaries will be awarded to individuals who have been invited to present their rural health services research orally or in poster format at either a national or international conference. In the 2024-25 year, bursaries will be awarded up to $700 each. These bursaries are intended to subsidize the costs of travel and accommodation and other expenses related to conference participation.

Preference will be given to junior researchers, graduate students and community based researchers who, a) conduct research on or with rural communities in BC and b) who are able to clearly articulate their research link with rural health services research in their bursary application. Allowable expenses include: airfare, accommodation, conference registration, meals and transportation. Funds will be reimbursed after the submission of original receipts and airline boarding passes.

Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • Based in BC
  • Actively engaged in the rural health services research project they are presenting on
  • Travelling for the purposes of presenting a paper/poster at a health-related conference

Application

This competition has a rolling deadline, and bursaries will be awarded on a first come first serve basis to deserving applications given they meet appropriate standards of quality.
