FLEX (Flexible Enhanced Learning) is a series of courses that offer medical undergraduate students unique opportunities to pursue a variety of scholarly activities in Years 1, 2, and 4 of the renewed curriculum. In FLEX, students develop and pursue activities that allow them to explore individual learning interests in greater depth.
FLEX activities can take place in academic settings or communities anywhere in British Columbia, Canada or the world.
At the RHSRNbc, medical students have the opportunity to join ongoing projects within the network as their Year 1, 2, or 4 FLEX project. Funds are also available to support students working on other projects that involve rural and remote health activities and require travel to these communities.
On this page, you will find links to the three different years of FLEX projects that the Network has helped support over the years. Read through the project descriptions and student testimonials to get an idea for your next big idea!
